Site Manager
Job Description
The MEP Site Engineer will oversee construction and commissioning activities for new data center projects or expansion works, ensuring successful project delivery. This role demands excellent interpersonal skills and deep technical knowledge in the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) domain.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the site team during installation, maintenance, and commissioning, ensuring safety, security, and cost-efficiency.
- Oversee all construction activities across disciplines until project handover.
- Supervise and coordinate system testing on-site.
- Prepare and submit progress reports, time sheets, and technical documentation to the Project Manager.
- Manage subcontractor activities during installations.
- Track project progress against the planned scope and schedule.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors for material delivery and on-site services.
- Ensure suppliers and contractors adhere to safety protocols.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with site teams.
- Regularly report on project milestones, risks, and challenges.
- Conduct site surveys and submit reports to management.
- Assign and monitor daily site tasks, ensuring alignment with safety and quality standards.
- Develop and oversee the maintenance plans for site tools and machinery.
- Provide technical guidance and support to on-site teams.
Personal Skills
- Over 10 years of experience in MEP installation and commissioning, particularly for data centers.
- Solid expertise in data center systems and MEP practices.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and mentor site teams.
- Flexibility to adapt to high-pressure environments.
- Excellent coordination and organizational abilities.
Technical Skills
- Proven track record with main contractors or large subcontractors.
- Experience in managing and developing teams effectively.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Skilled in resolving technical challenges and meeting deadlines.
- Proficient in Health and Safety practices.
- Strong client communication and commercial awareness.
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering.
- Experience in managing data center projects is preferred.
